Robert Burger

Robert Burger is a very hands-on IT Manager for a large government agency. He has industry experience spanning over 20 years, covering most Microsoft and IBM enterprise technologies. That experience ranges from large-scale AS/400’s to multi-node Windows Server 200x/ SQL Server 2005+ Enterprise Active-Active clusters. As of late, he is spearheading a multi-agency, multi-jurisdiction effort to design and build a state of the art case management system based on many of Microsoft’s latest technologies, including Silverlight, WCF RIA Services, Entity Framework and SQL Server 2008 R2. He devotes a lot of energy to architecting complete end-to-end integrated solutions, spanning from desktop to data center and beyond, and from operating systems, application servers, and service busses, to commercial off-the-shelf systems like Office, Odyssey and SAP, to his in-house developed line-of-business applications. While he enjoys design and understands the value in good design, he is much more passionate about the inner workings of software. Fortunately, his wife is passionate about building great user experiences, so he has a readily available resource for excellent UI guidance when it’s needed.
